Our mission at Halebee is to provide personal diabetes counseling services to everyone desiring wellness of body, mind, spirit, and community. It is possible to live a long, happy, and healthy life with a chronic illness like type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Halebee was founded in 2018, by Suzi Soroczak M.S., with the intention of making a positive difference in the lives of people with T2DM and prediabetes. We’re here to help you learn about how to lean into wellness and achieve your health goals. We can offer personalized guidance on the best way to achieve your diabetes wellness goals. You are not alone. Support is available from Halebee. #DiabetesGoodLife
Counseling by a diabetes educator or a team of educators delivered in a variety of formats may reduce A1C levels by 0.2% to 0.8% compared with usual care alone1.
How does personal diabetes counseling work?
Today, Halebee offers sessions between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm Pacific Tuesday-Saturday. We will send you a link where you can book a time that works best with your schedule. Our sessions are 100% remote – offered over Zoom – so you can attend from anywhere! Currently we only offer sessions in English, but we are hoping to add Spanish very soon.
Before your first counseling session, you will be asked to fill out a detailed pre-counseling questionnaire. We ask this so that you may receive the most personalized sessions possible. This also allows us to quickly dial into your needs at the beginning of the session. During your first session we will help you understand your current treatment plan and identify 3 personal goals you would like to work on. We can help you strategize your way around self-sabotaging traps you may run into. A Halebee counselor will strive to answer any questions you have about T2DM and prediabetes and we can talk about how to use natural and evidence-based strategies to lower your blood sugar level. Follow-up sessions can be 30 or 60 minutes in length.
